Delirium

Delirium - Lauren Oliver Review also at Openthepage
I picked up this book not really knowing what to think. The back of the book didn't help. All of the swirly letters and lovey-dovey stuff made me worry that the book would be cheesy. Yet, with all the hype and the dsytopian thing going for it, I couldn't resist.

The plot was fun. I liked how it slowly built up from slow to fast. Lena's conflicting emotions are spot on. The one thing I didn't like was how she seemed too excepting to Alex, but I guess that it would be difficult not be curious about something you've never known.
Then, there is Alex. Alex is a perfect guy. Maybe too perfect. I think that he could have used a flaw or two.
Lauren Oliver has a way of balancing her descriptions of the world with story. I like that. I hate reading a book that has little detail. Details are important.

Overall, I loved Delirium! It left something to ponder. I would definitely recommend this book, but not to everyone.
